All but one cabin has a fireplace and all have heating systems as well.

Off the Grid makes for a unique “green” vacation!

Coulter Lake uses solar panels and hydropower to generate most of our electricity. Propane generators back-up our electrical system. Our guests are encouraged to conserve electricity and water, which helps us sustain our environment. With no cell phone service, e-mail, or tv, our guests can unwind from technology and focus on what is important.

This place is spectacular. We loved our stay at Coulter Lake Guest Ranch. The views were amazing as you are at the edge of the Rocky Mountains. Horseback riding was the big highlight for me. The horses are very well-trained and are very sure-footed in the mountains. All of the meals are home-cooked and are very delicious! It was a home away from home. –Marita G horsebacking ranch Colorado-Coulter Lake Guest Ranch
Wow! This historic property is beyond beautiful. Take the beautiful mountain setting, add sure footed horses, great food, a caring, attentive staff and you have one amazing vacation. We met other folks from around the country and enjoyed getting to know one another. It was a special time. Thumbs up again and again. This past May I finally accomplished a top bucket list item. My long awaited dream trip was to visit a mountain ranch and horseback ride. Coulter Lake Ranch made that come true along with a whole lot more. The rides and views were spectacular ! We saw elk, bear and plenty of Mule deer . All of our meals were wonderful and tastefully done. We had strolls around the lake and campfires at night under a starlit sky. Thanks to the entire staff , Tim & Shelly , Jim & myself couldn't have had a better time ! Colorado Guest Ranch, Coulter Lake Ranch
